On 20th December 2025, we successfully held a closing ceremony for our holiday mentorship camp at Ilpolei Village, Laikipia North Sub-County. The camp, which ran from 1st December 2025, was organized by IWACO-KENYA in partnership with Northern Kenya CBO.
The goal of this camp was to mentor girls and boys during the holiday, promoting their protection against FGM and early pregnancies, and encouraging them to safely report back to school in January. This was achieved through the introduction of school-based running clubs under the initiative Northern Kenya Running Club (NKRC), using sports as a tool for mentorship, discipline, and life skills.
We sincerely thank the Indigenous Women and Children Organization (IWACO-KENYA) members for their dedication and support throughout the camp. Special appreciation goes to Ilpolei Professional for the powerful mentorship offered to the girls.
As a team, we remain committed to continuing engagement with students during future holidays and expanding the Northern Kenya Running Club (NKRC) to reach more schools and communities.
